Building a reputation is a huge part of blogging. Have you seen Problogger? Shoemoney? They built their reputation relentlessly over the years till they got a ton of readers and are known all over the blogging spectrum. Many people link to and read their posts. They have 100s of comments on almost every post.
Everyone in their niche knows about them. They are spoken about in forums, talked about in comments, and idolized.
The point i’m making is that almost all you need to be successful as a blogger is a great reputation. From then on you will get a ton of links for SEO, people who want to write for you, money, and a ton of readers. If you build a reputation and keep it up for years and years you will be a top blogger. Reputation is something that bloggers need.
If you do all the things mentioned below well and constantly, you will build a great reputation and become closer and closer to the big bucks every day. Make sure you do these things slowly and well because the better you do them, the more reputation you will get.
Create great content
Content is the most important thing you can do. If you look at any top blogger you will see that all of there posts are long and in-depth. They also make sure to use good spelling and grammar. Make sure all your posts have personality and are unique. Never slack off when writing posts. Never. If you keep the content coming, people will start to notice especially if you follow the other parts of this post. Your can also check out making quality article to help improve your content writing.
Have a fast loading unique design.
You want your readers to look at your design and be in awe. Think of your blog design as art. You want people to like it so much that they link to it as an example of a good design.
A logo is also neccessary for reconigtion. You can learn more about logos in this post.
Comment, comment, comment.
Comment on blogs related to your niche relentlessly. You want your name to constantly show up when other bloggers visit them. Don’t waste your time commenting on the big blogs with 100s of comments. You will be lost in the crowd. Try to pick 5 or 10 medium sized blogs in your niche preferable ones who have Dofollow and have Top Commentators plug-ins. Make sure that your comments are actually high quality and give back to the article. You will only build a bad reputation with low-quality comments.
Make Alliances
The web is not just connected computers. It’s a battleground. Making alliances will help you win the war. (gettting readers for your blog) After commenting on someone’s blog for a while, make a partnership with him/her. You should offer a link exchange if you have similar Page Rank. Exchange guest posts with him. There are many, many things you can do to form alliances. These alliances help you gain reputation in your niche and in the blogging community.
Guest post
Guest posts can help you make alliances. (as stated above) They can also build your reputation. Write quality guest posts, and email the authors of related blogs.
Go for the gold! If you are a good writer, ask a big blog in your niche for a guest post. He/she can only say no.
Write many guest posts. It is important for that you write them for many different blogs. Otherwise, you will not reach as many people as you should.
Follow everyone you know in your niche. Hopefully, they will follow too. Make great tweets, and respond to all the @s.
- Use forums: Posting in forums related to your niche can build reputation. Make sure to use the same name that you comment on blogs with. You can also build reputation for your blog by promoting on forums.
- Have a great name: Your name has to be memorable and related to what your blog is about. You can use your real name, but those usually aren’t as memorable. Also, make sure your name is appropriate. Otherwise, you will get bad reputation.
- Have a memorable, unique avatar: Your avatar helps people to remember you even more than your name. Therefore, make sure you at least have one. People without one are losing out. Try to find a good avatar that you haven’t seen before. Sure you could do Einstein sticking out his tongue, but everyone has seen that before so they won’t think of you when they think of that. You could also make one or buy one. Teenius (this blog’s number one commentator has a great one that he either made or bought. (i forgot)
If you do all of these things you will slowly but surly build a reputation for yourself. After years of doing it, everyone in your niche will know you, and you will be one step closer to becoming a top blogger.

phpWell, I have done half a dozen of mistakes already.
1) I use a different name in COMMENTING, & in FORUMS.
2) DESIGN is the second problem
3) UNIQUE AVATAR.
Well…This question is for you.
I am a top commentator on your blog. How are they…bad, avg, good..?????
This is the most important of all

I would say that your comments are top quality. They open the floor for discussions unlike other bloggers who comment things like “Good post” and stuff.

Cool, I can’t wait. I have to check some of these off myself. It’s just so hard without money.
