Creating the Perfect Notebook

Have you ever had an idea but forgot it?  Does it take you a while to come up with ideas?  Of course, you can get ideas online as I said in this post, but what about when your away from your computer?  Notebooks are a fantastic way to do this.  I will tell you how to get ideas for your notebook at a later date, but for now I will outline how to put together the perfect notebook.  Whether you have a blog, forum, or wiki you can benefit from a good notebook.

• Keep it neat.  Though it may be tempting, don’t put doodles or random notes all over your notebook.  Set aside pages for that, but make sure that your main pages have neat writing and are free of obstructions.  If you don’t have neat handwriting,(like me) pay extra attention to neatness.  You don’t want to scratch down that great idea and find you can’t read it.
• Fill it with everything.  You may think of a notebook as an excellent place to put ideas that pop into your head.  This is true, but don’t just right ideas, right everything.  If you have an idea for a new design, jot it down.  If you thought of a new way to promote more commenting or a new contest, right that down too.  
• Create your perfect design.  You have probably imagined about it.  Sketch it out right in your notebook.  Then you can work on it slowly until it is the way you visualized it. 
• Create categories.  Set aside different categories to keep your notebook organized.  Some examples are: design, ideas( this should be your biggest by far), goals, and SEO.
• Have a step by step list.  Having a complex step-by-step list will help you focus on things and not get distracted with unimportant things.  You will find that this also relieves stress and helps get things done.
• Write goals.  You know those things that pop inside your head when your thinking about your blog?  Whether it’s being as successful as Problogger, making a lot of money, or getting 40 comments on each post, it is great to write down goals.  Try to be as specific as possible for the best results.  You will find that once you get your goals on paper, they feel more attainable.  You should check out my post on goals
