Quality over quantity is a saying you hear over and over. What does it really mean? I, like many others ignored this at first. I always new it, but never really used it. Let me tell you something: it is something to live by in the writing world. One fantastic article that is the best on any subject will get linked to more, commented more, and read more than 10 other low quality articles.
Ask yourself this question and answer honestly: Have you let your quality slip? Maybe it’s posting every day, maybe you are just bored of writing, it can be many reasons. It doesn’t matter, your viewers would rather see one or two great articles a week than 7 low quality, everything has already been said before, articles.
Don’t tell me you haven’t done this: ( this is an ex from the blogging niche) "Hm, i could spend three days creating a quality article about 100 things I have learned ( just an ex) or write 5 Best Wordpress Plug-ins, 5 Reasons I love Wordpress, and Why Blogging is Awesome. When you do the first one you get a post that will be promoted on forums, social bookmarked, commented on a lot, read a lot, and linked to a lot.
When you do the second option you have three posts. Sure you may get a few comments, "OMG I totally love Wordpress too", and some views, but deep down you know you contributed to the repititive articles everyone hates.
So I have devised a list that you need to check off to see if your articles are high-quality.
Steps to See if Your Article is High Quality
- Has it been said before?
- Is it a unique article?
- Would you honestly consider it one of your best articles?
- Do you think it will actually help people?
- Do you think it will be popular on forums?
- Do you think many people will bookmark it?
- Do you think readers will go back to it?
- Do you think readers will like it so much, they will subscribe or look at more articles?
- Does your articles inter-link between your pages?
- Do you link to other articles on other sites related to your article?
- Does your article have proper grammar and spelling?
- Have you checked over your article?
- Do you think people will link to your article?
- Do you think many people will comment?
- Is your article memerable?
- Is your article in-depth?
- Does your article give value to the reader?
- Is is the best on the topic?
- Does it include some good pictures?
- Does it include videos? (optional but really adds value)
- Are your sources will cited?
Anything you want to add to the list? Got something to say? Comment.

phpOne thing I would like to add – how reliable are your sources? When doing research, are you mostly using wikipedia articles? Or, are you getting information from college and university websites, government websites, place like the center for disease control, webmd,,,,,,?
The information from wikipedia – through reliable for the most part – should not be your “only” source of information. Its important to cite websites that are an authority on the topic.

Shame you go against your own principles!
21. Did I run a spell checker on my article?
No matter how valid your argument is, no matter how well structured your article is – If people read bad English it’s all for nothing cos it gives the impression you couldn’t be bothered to deliver a quality piece. Just my 2 cents.

Hm, weird, Firefox didn’t pick them up.
Great blog you have here. Great posts too. Ya probably one will gain popularity only when he writes quality content. You have caught all the points. Great one ! And your blog would really rock if you have a good logo.

Thanks and welcome to the blog. If you want to become a popular blogger, content is definitely the most important thing.
I know man, I hate that I don’t have a logo. My parents wouldn’t let me right now though, but it is number one on my to-do list when I can get one.

Awesome list, dude
I do however have a slight problem with number one. Yes, of course it’s better to say something that hasn’t been said before, but IMO as long as you put your own twist on it, it’s OK
