A Violent Way to Get Sales

by Jake O'Callaghan

There’s an easy way to get the sale but it’s completely illegal and brutally violent.

I call it "The Godfather Ultimatum" because there’s a scene in "The Godfather" where

Al Pacino is talking about his father making a man an "offer he couldn’t refuse."

The Godfather simply pressed a gun against the man’s head and predictably his objections ran away.

While your customers can always refuse your offer… it’s a little hard to say no to

"The Godfather" when he’s holding a gun to your head. And whenever possible you

should build an offer your customer simply can’t refuse.

It’s one of the easiest ways to rocket your sales!

But I’m not suggesting violence. There’s an easier, safer, and legal way to get more sales.

And this has been a marketing truism since the dawn of the advertising age. Your

offer is almost always more important than your sales copy. So before you open your

mouth or write a single ad you should build an incredible offer.

An irresistable offer!

But how do you build an irresistable offer?

Well here’s a few things to keep in mind:

• Offer free bonuses or premiums to prompt immediate action.

• Let them keep the bonuses even if they choose to refund.

• Reverse all the risk in your offer with a money-back guarantee.

• Make the offer urgent and ultra-exclusive.

• Offer them something they really want!

Of course, nothing beats good ol’ fashioned research and digging. You really need to

identify your market’s hidden desires. Push the "hot-buttons" and offer them

something they desperately want or need.

This is nothing new but few people have the wisdom to take great advice and run with it.

And as advertising legend Rosser Reeves once said:

"A gifted product is mightier than a gifted pen."

P.S. It’s not brain-surgery. Pile up the bonuses and freebies. Give your customers a deadline. It’s hard to go wrong.

The appeal or impact of bonuses is still there especially for newbies. But, if you already know how it really works, freebies are useless. It's just same old stuffs offered by other people.

You’re really at making a catchy title. Haven’t tried freebies so far, but i doubt if it’s that effective. What products are best to give as freebies? is it ebooks?

It depends on what you are trying to do, but ebooks do tend to work very well. Other freebies such as a free theme may work as well.

Awesome article, Courtney, I always love reading your work!

Like you say, I think it’s really important to appeal to your specific audience. Things like the ‘make it exclusive and limited period’ point are so overused in all niches now, so I feel to get decent sales you need to target your market and target your bonus points!

Even though many people see through freebies they are still effective. People may go “He’s using this to try to sell me something” but they will still take the freebie.

Nice post! However sometimes the free bonus thing can actually turn people off, it’s been used so many times now that visitors find it hard to believe that a $10 ebook is being bundled with $5000 worth of free software haha.
